When I first saw it, I was surprised by the colour palette – very different from the muted colours we tend to use and to see in images of loss and sadness. But there is also a keen sense of support and comfort for the woman, in her sleeping or resting pose, with her partner's hand on her head. I was glad to see the inclusivity too, both in skin tone and in the non-specific gender or gender identity of the partner. There is calm and love here, as well as images of hope for the future.

It is a truly special privilege to be part of the Ajaz.org community. We have a funder who supports us both financially and practically, with generosity, deep interest, skill, and wisdom - and we are part of a small group of organisations that can also support, share, and learn from each other. A little like the image that Laura has created for us.
